About the role
- Provide L2 application support for Java-based applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Java, Servlets, JDBC, PL/SQL, and Unix environments
- Perform log analysis, basic debugging, and issue triaging
- Support deployment activities under senior team guidance
- Monitor applications and batch processes, escalating issues as required
- Collaborate with the onsite/offshore teams to ensure timely issue resolution within SLAs
- Maintain and update documentation, issue logs, and runbooks
- Participate in shift-based and on-call support rotations
Requirements
- Minimum 6+ years in application support or related areas
- Good knowledge of Java and ability to debug application issues
- Understanding of Servlets, JSP, and JDBC for issue resolution
- Experience with Oracle 19c – SQL/PL-SQL scripting and query tuning basics
- Familiarity with IBM Liberty and Tomcat for app deployment and monitoring
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux (RHEL) – log analysis, cron jobs, shell commands
- Exposure to Shell Scripting (C-shell/Bash) for automation and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of C/C++ executables and their role in batch processing
- Awareness of frontend debugging concepts (HTML, JavaScript)
