• The Graphic Design intern will be responsible for a variety of branding and key issue projects including supporting the organization’s digital asset management, the production of printed materials for a variety of purposes as well as graphics for the ACLU web site(s), multimedia and social media channels.

• Aiding in running the store in the most efficient, cost effective, and profitable way possible

Undergraduate Intern, Store Team – Communications Department

• The Multimedia intern is an integral member of the team, assisting with production of the ACLU’s in-house podcast as well as videos.
• Interns will conduct research, draft scripts and paper edits, transcribe and review interview footage, edit videos, assist on shoots and interviews, and participate in brainstorms and meetings.
• Work closely with producer and hosts of ACLU’s in-house podcast and pitch topics and provide background research for each episode.
• Manage and edit podcast taping transcripts and prepare publish packaging for podcast episodes.
• Research video topics, draft scripts, review and transcribe video footage.

Undergraduate Multimedia Intern, Communications Department

Affiliate Manager

• Collaborating with the OMEI team to ensure that the needs of the affiliate staff are met through learning programs, tools, and resources
• Engage in strategic discussions on a nationwide scale, contributing to our commitment to fostering equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging
• Create, edit, organize and maintain resources for effective communication of OMEI/SLIP programs and tools
• Assist in coordinating learning calls and webinars, support virtual workshops administration
• Draft preliminary language for deliverables, such as internal communications, brief summaries, and PowerPoint presentations
• Attend critical meetings with ACLU affiliate staff and board members, draft follow-up summaries and communications, and document key learnings

Graduate Intern, Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives – Organizational Management, Equity & Inclusion

• Project coordination and logistics planning assistance.
• Supporting multistate initiatives, including the Southern Collective (regional work with our 13 affiliates in the South) and the Battlegrounds Initiative (election safeguarding work).
• Supporting the experts on the team from the advocacy/legislative, organizing, legal, communications, and digital functional areas to ensure well-organized and efficient projects/programs.

• Supporting the roll-out of guides, toolkits, playbooks, and other resources for affiliate knowledge and learning.

Graduate Intern, Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives – Program and Strategy

Social Media Manager

• Reporting to the Director of social media, the social media intern will be responsible for assisting the ACLU’s social media team in researching, producing, scheduling, and measuring the performance of content posted across Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms as needed.
• Produce social media content for Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube as needed
• Assist social media editors and associates in scheduling content, including during rapid response moments
• Prepare analytics reports with assistance from social media editors or social media manager
