About the role
- Prepares and reconciles data for posting to financial statements including balance sheet, profit and loss, subsidiary statements, etc.
- Reviews and analyzes general ledger account balances for accuracy and makes recommendations for corrections.
- Evaluates financial reports and records to verify accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- Performs monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Prepares accurate and timely reports and accounting statements for management.
- Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, and other commitments used in predicting future revenues and expenses.
- Reports financial information to management and offers suggestions regarding resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
- Analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports to determine and/or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
- Follows and suggests established regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures, etc. to ensure compliance to general accounting practices.
- May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 2-4 years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Oracle or similar ERP system.
- Strong analytical skills required.
- May have to work overtime and be assigned to other shifts based on company needs.
- High degree of confidentiality needed due to the nature of the information with which this position works.
