About the role
- Build and maintain professional contacts and relationships with external medical-scientific experts, opinion leaders, and health-policy stakeholders, aligned with the Abbott Diabetes Care product portfolio and strategic priorities
- Expand and strengthen Abbott Diabetes Care networks across Germany, with a particular focus on diabetology
- Ensure strong medical-scientific exchange, effective presence, and scientific communication for Abbott Diabetes Care in diabetology, particularly at major academic centers, hospitals, research and educational institutions, and key diabetes specialist practices
- Respond to medical and scientific questions and inquiries
- Prepare and deliver presentations and scientific materials for healthcare professionals
- Coordinate and execute medical-scientific events, including advisory boards, working groups, and scientific symposia, also at relevant congresses
- Participate in congresses and continuing-education events
- Monitor the scientific landscape with respect to current developments in diabetology
- Coordinate the procedures for Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), internally and with the conducting medical-scientific centers
- Work closely with Abbott Diabetes Care departments, including Medical Affairs, Medical Education, and other commercial functions (e.g., Market Access, Marketing, Sales)
Requirements
- University degree in a natural science or human medicine, with a completed doctorate (PhD/MD)
- Several years of experience in diabetology
- Several years of experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry in a similar role or in a commercial/sales function
- Experience in medical-scientific communication and education
- Advanced knowledge of evidence-based medicine and clinical study design; knowledge of health economics or medical statistics is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and an independent working style
- Team-oriented with a high level of integrity
- Fluent German and very good English skills
