About the role
- Execute against the purchasing and supply management strategies created by the Category Managers
- Work intimately with customers and divisions driving the 'One Abbott Procurement' model
- Provide superior levels of customer service and satisfaction
- Contribute cost savings, partnerships with suppliers, and other value-added activities
- Seek and lead innovative ways to improve procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels
- Research and evaluate products and suppliers
- Perform value analysis on costs and supplier quotes
- Recommend process improvements to streamline for efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or Finance or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum 4 years of Procurement and functional experience
- Project management skills
- Excellent people skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Proficient in the use of spreadsheet programs
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills
- CPM certification desired
