About the role
- Assist HR Manager with recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Assist HR Manager with all employee relations.
- Assist HR Manager with policies and procedures creation, management, and enforcement.
- Assist HR Manager with benefits administration and audits.
- Assist HR Manager in all compliance related to payroll, HR, benefits, and federal/state employment law.
- Assist HR Manager with employee culture and morale.
- Assist HR Manger with proper recordkeeping and documentation.
- Assist HR Manager with maintaining and updating our HRIS and payroll system (Paylocity).
- Provide leadership for the HR Department in the absence of the HR Manager.
- Process payroll in HR Manager’s absence.
- Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Ad hoc report requests.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of two (2) year of experiences as an HR Generalist.
- Experience in a comparable or senior role is acceptable.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a 100% remote-based position.
- SHRM or HRCI certification required or obtained within six months of hire.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong foundational knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Strong foundational knowledge and understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
- Experience with at least one HRIS/payroll system i.e. Paylocity, Gusto, Paychex, ADP, etc.
- Must have experience working with payroll related tax agencies and understand how they work.
- Computer literate with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to navigate basic software programs such as Slack, Zoom, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must have a strong command of the English language (verbal and written) as well as excellent communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain appropriate and effective relationships in the workplace.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to learn new systems, skills, and tasks quickly.
- Must have and maintain high speed Internet. Minimum speed of 100 Mbps download, 25 Mbps upload, and a latency <=50ms.
- Preferred, but not mandatory: Experience with Paylocity.
- Early riser/morning person.
- Two or four-year degree in human resource management, business administration, or another related field.
