About the role

  • Provides legal representation for Exchange policyholders in personal injury and property damage lawsuits.
  • Analyzes cases to develop legal strategies in defense of lawsuits.
  • Identifies potential exposure to policyholders or the Exchange.
  • Develops and implements discovery plans and motions.
  • Prepares for and defends court proceedings including trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Regularly communicates case details to management and policyholders.
  • Participates in negotiation and settlement of cases on behalf of the Exchange or its policyholders.

Requirements

  • JD Required
  • 1-3 years Insurance defense law Preferred
  • Insurance background helpful, but not required.
  • Some knowledge of trial procedures and the rules of the evidence.
  • Valid Driver's License, acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record and minimum liability insurance - Issued by State Required
