About the role
- Support device installations across FAA facilities as part of the FAA Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) Program.
- Ensure each site is install-ready, technically compliant, and properly documented prior to and during installation.
- Close coordination among Program Management, Engineering Services, Technical Operations, vendors, and site personnel to ensure compliance with FAA standards and safe continuity of air traffic operations.
- Review equipment placement, telecommunications services, radio interfaces, legal recording connections, and workstation configurations.
- Validate Vendor Site Survey Worksheets (SSWs), Site Survey Reports (SSRs), and Site Installation Plans (SIPs) for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide on-site technical oversight during installation and ensure installations meet FAA compliance and documentation requirements.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (or equivalent military or field experience).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience as an electronics technician supporting complex communications, radar, or mission-critical systems.
- Demonstrated experience performing power, cabling, and interconnect verification in operational environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation plans.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in safety-critical environments.
- Proficiency using test equipment (e.g., multimeters, cable testers, continuity testers).
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
