About the role
- Formulate partnerships across the business function(s) and HR to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues - conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to field management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Consult often with field management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance, in many states, including California, partnering with our Legal department as needed
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, to build morale, and to increase productivity and retention
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to all employees
- Deliver guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Identify training needs for assigned locations and individual executive coaching needs
- Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success, then follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field
- HR Certification (SHRM/PHR) preferred
- Thorough knowledge of labor legislation, including California
- 3-5 years HR business partner experience required
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferred
- Broad working knowledge of all aspects of HR functions and business processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Data Analytics, Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Strong planning and execution skills
- Solid cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Strong writing, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish) a plus.
