About the role
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide courteous, professional assistance to clients in both English and Spanish
- Schedule and manage patient appointments
- Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the EHR system
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Conduct follow-up calls for claim status inquiries
- Provide general virtual front desk support to ensure smooth practice operations
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times
- Use phone system applications (GoToMeeting) and EHR; report to point of contact as assigned
Requirements
- Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written) – non-negotiable
- Prior experience in a healthcare, medical office, or telehealth support role preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification and claims processes is a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable using EHR systems (training provided)
- Ability to use phone system applications (e.g., GoToMeeting or similar)
- Reliable computer, internet connection, and quiet workspace
- Must complete HIPAA training upon hire
- Availability to work 25-30 hours per week, Tue–Sat, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
- Junior–Senior level experience tier requested
