Legal Assistant

• In this role we will train you up to manage your own caseload.
• It’s varied and busy and there is good opportunity to get involved in client liaison.
• You’ll need to enjoy telephone work and juggling a busy day!
• Previous collections experience preferred but not essential if you have an aptitude for customer service we’ll show you the rest!

Litigation Legal Assistant – Debt and Asset Recovery

• Assist with the administration of Group entities across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide administrative support to other teams within Group Legal (including commercial, regulatory, data protection and disputes) as required.
• Prepare and distribute Board and Committee packs.
• Draft Board and Committee agendas.
• Prepare first drafts of Board and Committee minutes.
• Assist with drafting shareholder resolutions, written resolutions and routine corporate documentation.
• Manage correspondence and coordination with external counsel, notaries, registered agents and corporate service providers, including invoice tracking.
• Assist with drafting and maintaining Board and Committee Terms of Reference.
• Maintain statutory registers and corporate records.
• Support e-signature workflows (e.g. DocuSign) and maintain the legal team's filing and document management systems.
• Support KYB requests by collating corporate documents.
• Assist with responses to audit, regulatory and internal information requests.
• Liaise with directors, senior stakeholders and external advisers to coordinate governance activities.
• Coordinate document execution, certification, notarisation and apostille requirements.
• Maintain governance templates and precedent documents.
• Support company secretarial filings and corporate projects.
• Provide administrative support to the Corporate Legal team.
• Handle confidential information with discretion.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the Group Company Secretary, Legal Counsel or Group Chief Legal Officer.

Legal Secretary

• Manage a varied caseload of civil litigation matters, including pursued and defended claims
• Authorise and review case strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
• Assess evidence, prioritise claims and determine appropriate routes to settlement or judgment
• Represent the organisation at court hearings where required
• Provide legal guidance to the business on debt recovery processes and policy
• Collaborate with operational teams to support effective debt recovery activity
• Ensure cases are progressed efficiently in line with court deadlines and procedures
• Support team development through knowledge sharing and supervision where required
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver consistent and effective legal support

Assistant Litigation Solicitor

• Managing a caseload of pre-litigated cases, primarily focused on personal injury claims for union members
• Carrying out a range of tasks including initial assessment on merits
• Obtaining evidence in support of liability including from witnesses and pre-action disclosure
• Assessing value of claims and attending on clients, witnesses, experts, union clients, third parties and defendants

Litigation Assistant

• Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support including audio typing/drafting and formatting correspondence, legal documents, creating court bundles, pleadings and client letters using firm templates and precedents
• Manage diaries, schedule meetings and conference calls, arrange travel and accommodation where required, and co‑ordinate internal and external appointments to ensure efficient use of fee earners’ time
• Manage incoming and outgoing communications, answer telephone calls, screen and direct enquiries, take messages and respond to routine client queries promptly and professionally
• Open, maintain and close client files in accordance with firm procedures; ensure documents are scanned, saved and indexed correctly within the firm’s case management and document management systems
• Prepare and lodge court forms, attend to electronic filings and deadlines, assist with the assembly of trial and hearing bundles and ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirements
• Assist with billing and time recording, prepare fee notes and expense claims, and liaise with accounts where necessary to support accurate financial records
• Support client care processes by maintaining regular communication, arranging client meetings, sending engagement letters and keeping clients informed of progress in a clear and professional manner
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection, anti‑money laundering and other regulatory requirements; undertake required training and checks

Legal Secretary/Legal PA

• Provide day-to-day legal and operational support
• Manage subsidiary governance framework
• Maintain corporate records and statutory registers
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external counsel
• Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents
• Coordinate contract execution processes
• Support legal budget management and vendor relations
• Conduct legal research and maintain template agreements

Paralegal / Legal Assistant

• Provide comprehensive secretarial support, including typing correspondence, legal documents, client care letters, and court forms as required
• Manage incoming and outgoing post, email and telephone enquiries professionally and promptly; prioritise and redirect matters to fee earners where necessary
• Open and maintain matter files on the case management system, ensuring files are up to date, properly indexed and time is recorded accurately
• Prepare and collate transaction paperwork such as contracts, completion statements, SDLT returns and transfer deeds; ensure accurate version control and timely distribution to clients and third parties
• Arrange and track property searches, obtain and lodge documentation with Land Registry and other third-party providers, and assist with post-completion registration tasks
• Support AML and client identification procedures by assisting with ID checks, AML records and ensuring compliance with firm procedures
• Monitor and progress matters by diarising key dates (exchange, completion, mortgage deadlines), chasing outstanding information and updating clients on status in line with fee earner instructions
• Assist with the preparation of completion funds transfers, liaise with banks, mortgage brokers and estate agents on completion logistics, and draft completion statements as required
• Provide general administrative support including arranging meetings, booking rooms, filing (electronic and physical), scanning and maintaining office stationery and supplies
