Content Manager

• Lead the creation and execution of Tier 1, brand-defining content including thought leadership, company announcements, executive messaging, and top-of-funnel demand content aligned to Product Marketing strategy.
• Own content creation, publishing, and governance across corporate social channels, ensuring messaging aligns with brand standards, approved narratives, and organizational risk posture.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable content governance frameworks, including editorial standards, approval workflows, style guides, content tiering, and compliance checkpoints.
• Serve as the editorial authority for high-visibility and high-risk communications, acting as final approver for Tier 1 content and advising senior marketing and executive stakeholders on quality, tone, and reputational risk.
• Ensure consistency and cohesion of brand messaging across Product Marketing, Revenue Marketing, Corporate Communications, and external-facing channels.
• Mentor and guide content production resources, prioritizing efforts toward the highest-impact and highest-risk content initiatives.
• Own crisis and issue communications execution, maintaining response playbooks and partnering cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Legal, Executive Leadership, and PR to ensure timely, clear, and brand-aligned communications during sensitive situations.

Content and Editorial Manager

• Own Horizontal’s global content strategy and integrated editorial calendar, ensuring content aligns to business priorities, campaign goals, audience needs, and measurable outcomes.
• Manage the end-to-end content workflow from intake and planning through execution, distribution, measurement, and optimization in partnership with Marketing and Digital Strategy leaders.
• Collaborate with global marketing teams to support regional needs while maintaining consistency with Horizontal’s brand voice, messaging, and editorial standards.
• Identify opportunities to repurpose and scale content across social, email, web, sales enablement, events, PR, and thought leadership.
• Write, edit, and develop high-quality B2B content across thought leadership, case studies, executive/SME interviews, blogs, website content, PR, email, social, and sales enablement.
• Translate complex topics, market insights, and subject matter expert input into clear, compelling content tailored to target audiences.
• Apply strong editorial judgment to content planning, messaging, structure, tone, and storytelling while ensuring alignment with brand standards and channel best practices.
• Bring experience in B2B, staffing, recruiting, workforce solutions, professional services, or technology; highly preferred.
• Develop brand visibility content, including press releases, award submissions, sponsorship materials, thought leadership, case studies, and other content that elevates Horizontal’s reputation in the market.
• Manage planning, creation, scheduling, publishing, optimization, and reporting for social content across relevant platforms; *Sprout Social experience strongly preferred.*
• Monitor engagement, audience growth, platform trends, and content performance to provide actionable recommendations.
• Build and manage email campaigns, newsletters, nurture sequences, event promotions, and follow-up communications for campaigns, webinars, conferences, sponsorships, and hosted events.
• Develop automated workflows that support lead generation, customer engagement, event follow-up, and audience nurturing.
• Partner with marketing and sales stakeholders to align email content with campaign goals, audience segments, and conversion objectives.
• Analyze and optimize email performance across messaging, segmentation, subject lines, calls to action, deliverability, and conversions; HubSpot or similar platform experience preferred.
• Create and assist in optimization of website-related content in alignment with SEO best practices and digital strategy.
• Partner with the Director of Digital and Web Strategy on website content updates, SEO priorities, landing pages, content refreshes, and performance improvements.
• Leverage AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and other emerging technologies, to improve content ideation, research, drafting, editing, repurposing, and workflow efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive content and marketing tasks while maintaining accuracy, quality, originality, and brand alignment.
• Manage multiple content priorities, timelines, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Track, analyze, and report on content performance across social, email, campaigns, events, and other marketing channels.
• Connect content performance to broader marketing goals, including engagement, brand awareness, lead generation, pipeline support, customer engagement, and revenue influence.

• Oversee the smooth running of the medical queues such that turnaround times are met
• Prevent the posting of medical preprints that may cause harm and ensure that appropriate ethics, funding and COIs are provided.
• Work with journal partners such as Preprints with The Lancet to support their editorial policies as well as working on any reporting and/or projects.
• Liaise with the Content Director over funders and their policies and how it affects SSRN policies and liaising on policy changes as needed.
• Liaise with the Production and Product teams over changes in policies and approaches for identifying bad content in the medical and life science disciplines.

Content Editor

• Understand and articulate the creative vision for a project, aligning it with client objectives
• Develop an understanding of the target audience(s), their needs, and how they interact with the brand across touchpoints
• Meet with clients to discuss their goals for an upcoming marketing campaign, then Developing marketing campaigns that are aligned with client expectations.
• Developing marketing strategies that dictate the core methods of achieving the client’s goals
• Create documentation and write creative briefs that inspire and challenge teams to do their best work
• Partner with cross-functional teams including UX, design, copywriting, and development to bring concepts to life
• Coordinating goals with department heads responsible for enacting a marketing strategy
• Present concepts and rationale to internal and external stakeholders, adjusting as needed based on feedback
• Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring quality standards are met and deadlines are met
• Conduct post-mortem analysis to identify areas of improvement for future projects

• Work with the product, UX, legal review, and delivery teams to produce insightful content strategy plans, taxonomies, tagging strategies, content maps/matrices, and shepherding content through the governance processes.
• Researching and staying up to date on the latest developments in terms of search engine optimization, content trends and consumer behavior.
• Ensuring quality and consistency across content.
• Support the writing, edit, testing, and improvement of content that makes our products and experiences easier to use across Exact Sciences products and experiences.
• Auditing experiences to help understand and assess the content and be able to provide strategic recommendations for moving forward.
• Facilitate the collaborate and influence design decisions with multiple team members, including product, UX, development, copywriting, and key stakeholders.
• Create inclusive content strategies to foster a welcoming environment regardless of background, sexual orientation, gender expression, religion or ethnicity, and model these behaviors for the organization.
• Document content and approvals according to established processes.
