Collections

• Responsible for collecting active A/R from insurance payers including but not limited to commercial, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Aetna, Uniform Medical, United Healthcare, HMOs, PPOs, and other payers.
• Contact insurance payers by either phone or online inquiry regarding unpaid hospital claims.
• Review remaining balances on account after insurances have paid to determine appropriate next action.
• Review denials by insurances for entire claims and for line items to determine if additional follow up is needed or assistance from other departments and forwarded to them as needed, including Care Coordination, Revenue Coordination, Registration, etc.

Billing and Collections Representative

• Manage an assigned portfolio of client accounts and follow up on outstanding invoices in a timely manner
• Contact clients regarding past-due balances and work to resolve payment issues professionally and effectively
• Partner with internal team members and partners to review account status and support collection efforts
• Research and reconcile account discrepancies, billing questions, and payment issues
• Maintain accurate records of collection activity, client communications, and account status updates
• Monitor aging reports and identify accounts requiring follow-up or escalation
• Prepare routine collections reports and provide account updates as needed
• Follow established collections procedures and recommend process improvements when appropriate
• Escalate sensitive or complex collection matters to management when necessary

Collections Specialist

• Review open accounts and follow up if they are past due.
• Work with the deductions department to reconcile any deductions/short-pays that may arise.
• Resolve any unapplied cash on an account.
• Run aging reports in Microsoft Excel to identify accounts to be targeted for collection calls.
• Maintain strong level of professionalism and customer service with clients via excellent communication.
• Process Bank Wire, ACH & Credit Card transactions.
• Reach out to customers on pending orders.
• Work closely with the Credit department to communicate any customers that need to be blocked or sent to outside collections/Euler credit insurance.
• Work closely with the Sales Team as it relates to customers that are not within payment terms.

Collections Representative

• Lead enhancement of business processes to mitigate fraud risk
• Produce reporting and analysis to evaluate operational initiatives
• Develop and maintain operational reports, dashboards, and reporting tools
• Partner closely with Senior Specialists and operational leaders for root-cause analysis

Analyst 3, Credit & Collections – Fraud

• Responsible for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts
• Contact customers regarding payment status
• Answering incoming customer calls
• Deal with customers and profit centers to get disputed invoices resolved
• Deal with general contractors for specific jobs and make arrangements for joint checks
• Forward Certificates of Insurance and Tax Certificates to the appropriate departments
• Update and amend customer maintenance information

Credit and Collections Representative

• Coordinates and facilitates patient billing and collection activities
• Researching and holding payers accountable
• Resolving outstanding issues with insurance payers
• Builds strong working relationships with assigned business units
• Responds to incoming calls and makes outbound calls to resolve billing issues
• Works independently under general supervision

PFS Representative, DME Collections

• Provides assistance in management and monitoring of outstanding accounts
• Training and performance evaluations of central billing office personnel
• Monitoring adherence to department policies and guidelines by regular audits
• Oversees operation of the internal system - creating, assigning and maintaining PCS queues
• Facilitates documentation and files of all meetings and operational decisions
• Supervises billing office functions such as patient admission, interview process, collection of demographics, insurance information, payment arrangements
• Coordinates distribution of periodic statements, invoices and other documents
• Ensures documentation of all policies and procedures by all subordinate personnel
• Assists in monitoring outstanding account balances for the commercial insurance area
• Provides backup for billing staff during peak times, vacations, and illnesses
