• Serve as an in-house Structural Engineer to support the planning, engineering, and construction phase services for a variety of public infrastructure projects throughout New England
• Perform design of buildings and non-building structures for a variety of public and private clients
• Work with in-house civil and environmental engineers and landscape architects to support primarily municipal and industrial projects
• Provide structural analysis and design
• Perform structural calculations using a variety of software tools
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
• Project types include, but are not limited to:

• Non-building industrial or utility structures such as access platforms, vaults, and pump stations
• Building and non-building structure condition assessments

Senior Structural Engineer

• Lead and facilitate cross-functional projects, with a focus on leading teams working with high-profile clients to provide Architecture, Engineering, or Land Development services for civil, industrial, data center, and/or utility scale projects.
• Define and communicate client needs and expectations. Proactively identify and provide resolution to project issues impacting profitability, client satisfaction, and other key performance indicators.
• Lead project team and collaborate with Market Leads in the development and negotiation of project scope, schedule, fee, and contract terms for potential projects.
• Support client relationships and business development in support of strategic business plan, promoting Woolpert as an industry leader to existing clients and potential clients.
• Act as key point of internal and external contact for project communications, ensuring continuous stakeholder communications.
• Follow Building Sector Project Standards (BSPS) and collaborate with the PMO team with respect to project execution, reporting, and delivery consistency.
• Lead formal project setup activities, including completion of Project Setup Forms, development of Project Execution Plans, establishment of billing plans, and facilitation of structured project kickoff meetings with the project team.
• Maintain financial accountability across assigned projects, including budget variance management, forecasting, timely invoicing, accounts receivable follow-up, and adherence to approved contract scope and authorization.
• Oversee the quality of deliverables prepared by team members, including but not limited to budgets, work plans, risk mitigation plans, contracts, design deliverables, and other project documentation.
• Oversee project resource forecasting, including initial resource loading, monthly forecast reviews, coordination with Subproject Managers, and proactive use of ETC variance to anticipate project financial impacts.
• Provide ongoing project monitoring and control through use of Executive Summaries, regular team check-ins, proactive change management, and enforcement of contract terms related to scope, schedule, and fee.
• Provide clear, timely project reporting to leadership, finance, and executive teams, including financial performance, risk status, and key project metrics to support decision-making.

Civil Engineering Project Manager – Industrial

• Prepares moderately complex studies, construction documents, basic reports and other supporting documentation to support structural building design.
• Prepares technical specifications.
• Interprets data and prepares drawings for building and vertical non-building projects.
• Provide engineering and project support to the Designer of Record (DOR).
• Act as DOR, as required.
• Ability to deliver projects and/or tasks on time and within allotted budget
• Provide clear redlines for EIT’s and BIM designers.
• Ability to check design calculations performed by others.
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• Ability to follow MBI project standards and team protocols.
• Ability to review and comment on construction submittals, respond to Contractor Requests for Information (RFI) and review corrective action for field errors.
• High proficiency in Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat PDF, and MS Teams.
• Communicates with Senior Engineers, other disciplines and Project Managers, schedules and attends internal meetings, as necessary, and documents important action items for the next meeting.
• Assists with proposal production and implementing marketing initiatives
• Responsible for maintaining technical knowledge through completion of various training activities: attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training.
• Responsible for maintaining professional licensure.
• Occasionally visits project sites, reporting and documenting findings to Project Manager and/or Owner.

Building Structural Engineer

• Performs structural marine and waterfront engineering assignments that are broad and varied in nature
• Performs and oversees engineering planning and design assignments at key stages of projects
• Oversees technical work, provides technical guidance and mentoring of entry- and intermediate-level engineers
• Analyzes complex problems and proposes new alternative solutions
• Leads the preparation and coordination of project deliverables including contract documents
• Responsible for the review and sealing of contract deliverables
• Performs independent technical and quality reviews
• Ensures Stantec’s engineering and design procedures and guidelines are consistently applied on projects
• Coordinates with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals
• Responsible for invoicing, managing, and monitoring financial performance of project budgets

Senior Structural Engineer – Marine, Waterfront

• Perform engineering analysis and design reviews
• Oversee infrastructure projects (water, sewer, roads, facilities)

• Conduct site inspections and compliance reviews
• Coordinate with contractors and government stakeholders

Civil Engineer, PE/EIT – Federal Infrastructure Projects

• Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment
• Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects
• Familiarity with current local, state, and federal land use permitting is a plus
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments
• Perform other job duties as requested

Senior Civil Engineer

• Design and serve as, or work with, the structural E.O.R. for building designs of new construction, renovations and additions.

• Lead and manage large-scale construction projects and field operations, serving as the primary point of contact for contractors, engineers, and stakeholders
• Ensure contractor compliance with client safety policies, regulatory standards, and contract requirements through active field oversight and construction quality assurance
• Monitor construction progress, identify risks, track deviations, and resolve complex technical and construction challenges across multiple disciplines
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and work plans while supporting engineering coordination, constructability reviews, and field-driven design adjustments
• Support inspections, commissioning, and project closeout, including tracking and resolving punch list items
• Maintain accurate reports, as-built documentation, and communicate project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders
