• Obtains, verifies, analyzes and models data including risk reporting and forecasting

Actuarial Analyst II

• Provide actuarial leadership and oversight for DCS pricing activities, including rate reviews, underwriting, and annual pricing submissions.
• Establish and maintain actuarial standards, pricing frameworks, and governance processes.
• Review, approve, and recommend rate actions, pricing assumptions, and risk positions.
• Own actuarial evaluation of margin performance and profitability drivers.
• Ensure pricing strategies and rate execution are aligned with target margins and durable growth goals.
• Identify emerging risks and develop mitigation strategies in partnership with Business Leads, Finance and Underwriting.
• Assess and manage the financial and pricing implications of federal and state regulatory changes impacting Commercial Pharmacy and Mental Health Parity.
• Oversee intercompany pharmacy pricing discussions and work with both Caremark and Aetna IBU teams to ensure pharmacy value is effectively deployed for Fully Insured, AFA and integrated ASC business.
• Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team, fostering organizational agility and development.

AVP, Commercial Specialty Actuarial & Underwriting

• Leading strategic discussions with our clients to ensure the solution is meeting their needs, in terms of new regulation, managing their risks and optimization of costs
• Will need to build strong internal relationships across the organization and working with peers in other countries
• Feeding into the wider product needs and assisting solution leaders with developing roadmaps and strategy across the Risk Management suite
• Aligning with internal teams such as professional services, customer services and managed services on customer needs, roadmap and strategy
• Working closely with our senior sales, business development and account management teams to help grow the business and support our clients
• Working closely with the development team to ensure products meet customer expectations and aligns with strategy
• There is an expectation of a level of travel meeting our customers, although much can be done virtually
• Leading regular user forums to discuss regulatory and efficiency change requirements from clients
• Maintaining US regulatory and actuarial market knowledge to help shape our solutions

Senior Actuarial Product Development Manager – Insurance Risk Suite

• Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work
• prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives
• Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists
• Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects

Actuarial Analyst III

• Applies advanced actuarial knowledge to complete broad and complex projects (e.g., evaluates and selects methodology to price new discount/endorsement for countrywide rollout; develops alternative methodologies to comply with complex regulatory requirements; selects metrics and designs processes to monitor model performance; translates business problems into technical requirements and performs required analysis to develop solutions; independently runs catastrophe models and interprets and communicates results to support critical business activities, while enhancing the control environment as needed.
• Utilizes advanced actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques to augment actuarial work product.
• Leads special actuarial projects, such as the development of new methodologies or reporting tools.
• Trains new team members on the theory and mechanics of relevant actuarial methodologies.
• Apply deep understanding of products supported, stakeholders' needs, and industry trends to solve unstructured business problems.
• Identifies and anticipates compliance gaps and process improvements; recommends and develops solutions to mitigate risk.
• Represents Actuary in cross-functional efforts.
• Develops written communication and presentations that effectively convey data-driven solutions to broad audiences, including cross-functional executive leadership.
• Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
