About the role

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of Sales Engineers, setting clear expectations, coaching on technical depth and customer engagement, and helping the team scale
  • Personally drive solution design and technical architecture for complex, high-impact prospects in a healthcare setting
  • Own and execute the technical pre-sales motion, from discovery through proof-of-concept and handoff to post-sale teams
  • Deliver and oversee technical demos and executive-level presentations to audiences ranging from engineers to C-suite stakeholders
  • Design and validate customer integrations with Zus APIs, healthcare data models, and interoperability standards
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex integrations, edge cases, and customer challenges
  • Develop and standardize implementation patterns, reference architectures, and technical best practices
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to translate customer feedback into product improvements and roadmap input
  • Ensure a smooth, well-documented handoff from pre-sales to Customer Success and Implementation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve go-to-market strategy, technical enablement, and sales effectiveness
  • Balance leadership with execution—jumping in wherever needed to help the team and the company move fast

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Implementation, including experience in healthtech or healthcare data platforms
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring a small technical team, with a hands-on leadership style
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions using RESTful APIs, healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, C-CDA, HL7), and EMR data
  • Proficiency in SQL and comfort working directly with complex healthcare data models
  • Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end solutions that balance technical feasibility, customer needs, and business outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A customer-first mindset and a passion for building trusted technical partnerships
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure in an early-stage environment
  • Calm, adaptable, and effective when navigating complex or high-pressure situations
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation that reflects the value you bring to the team a combination of cash and equity
  • Robust benefits that include health insurance, wellness benefits, 401k with a match, unlimited PTO
  • Opportunity to work alongside a passionate team that is determined to help change the world (and have fun doing it)
