About the role
- Assist the Engineering Manager with various projects to support the manufacturing plant
- Optimize workflow by process mapping
- Eliminate bottlenecks to increase efficiencies
- Redesign/optimization of layouts
- Conduct line balance review of assembly lines
- Execute time studies and standards development
- Gain experience in day-to-day activities and project work done by a typical industrial engineer
- Apply college skills and knowledge to real-world projects
Requirements
- Students completing their sophomore or junior year working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field strongly preferred
- Students completing their freshman year may apply, but preference for students already into their core curriculum
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week
- Ability to work with others; highly self-motivated to achieve individual tasks efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Creative problem-solving skills essential
- Strong analytical skills desired
- Computer skills including excellent skills with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- AutoCAD Experience Required
- GPA desired: 3.0 or better
