About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Complete field inspections, including reading maps and aerial photos and measuring fields and storage bins
Discuss crop-loss findings with farmers on complex, non-routine, problematic, and controversial claims
Explain complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people
Perform fact-finding regarding crop damage and transmit loss information to determine potential indemnities
Gather relevant facts, apply applicable law, and establish basic principles of negligence
Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned
Maintain working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures for legal compliance
Contribute to team projects and related results as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or Equivalent
6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area
Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire
Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel within the territory
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles
Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet
Ability to lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organization and prioritization skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster preferred
