About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Completes field inspections and related responsibilities
- Measures fields, storage bins, and discusses findings of crop loss with farmers
- Conveys complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people
- Performs fact finding regarding crop damage, records information, and transmits loss information
- Gather relevant facts utilizing applicable law and establishing basic principles of negligence
- Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned
- Ensure legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures
- Participate on projects as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area
- Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date
- Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory
- Valid Driver’s License
- Walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions
- 4 or more years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance industry for Crop Claims Specialist position
