About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the proposal process alongside the sales team by contributing technical expertise to the ZGEBS proposal
- Support the implementation process for newly acquired captives by setting up the reinsurance program
- Provide professional underwriting support to captives during onboarding and renewals
- Apply a disciplined approach to risk assessment for new business and renewals
- Take an active role in externally promoting ZGEBS captive expertise
- Evaluate captive protection requirements and quote in line with ZGEBS profitability and risk appetite
- Provide broader underwriting support to the ZGEBS underwriting team
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6–8 years' practical experience underwriting employee benefits programs in life and/or health business
- Degree in Mathematics, Finance or a related field
- Ability to quickly understand and apply new technical information and to analyze datasets for pricing
- Strong analytical and technical skills with a high level of accuracy in day-to-day work
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Team player who enjoys working in a dynamic, multicultural organization
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong communication skills
- Experience setting up reinsurance arrangements and a solid understanding of reinsurance cover is a plus
