Legal Counsel

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide practical legal advice and day-to-day support across Zurich Cover-More & BOXX’s operations, focusing on the Canadian business
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on various commercial agreements, including vendor, partner, broker, technology, and service arrangements
- Support insurance, licensing, regulatory, compliance, and governance matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Partner with business leaders to identify legal risks, solve problems, and support strategic initiatives
- Assist with privacy, marketing, product, underwriting, and customer-facing legal matters as they arise
- Coordinate with internal and external counsel on litigation, disputes, regulatory inquiries, and specialized legal projects
- Work across diverse legal matters, providing broad exposure to the business and opportunities for continued professional growth
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-7 years of legal experience with a strong foundation in corporate, commercial, insurance, regulatory, or financial services matters
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly assess issues, identify risks, and provide practical business-focused solutions
- Confidence working independently while knowing when to seek guidance or escalate issues
- Growth mindset and willingness to take on new areas of law and unfamiliar challenges
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in insurance, travel insurance, cyber, technology, financial services, or other regulated industries is a strong asset
