About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Leverage Zurich’s risk engineering tools and services to improve customer risk
Facilitate general account management of customers who purchase Zurich Construction’s Builder’s Risk Insurance product
Manage business partner relationships within the region
Conduct remote and onsite surveys and risk assessments of construction companies and projects including large data centers and the energy sector
Provide technical support to customers, underwriters and the claims department by identifying improvement strategies
Prepare external reporting to the marketplace and internal reports for underwriting and claims decisions to identify and manage risk

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree with 6 or more years of experience in the Construction, Engineering, or Risk Consulting field OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Construction, Engineering, or Risk Consulting field OR Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area
Experience working in a team environment
High level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office
Bachelor’s degree in either Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, or equivalent
20 or more years of combined experience in Construction Management/Project Management/Engineering consulting
Construction experience with an advanced level of knowledge of construction processes, quality management and associated risks and exposures
Experience with data center construction
Experience in energy projects (i.e. solar panel installations, geothermal power plants, hydroelectric dams, biomass power plants, nuclear power stations and SMR’s, power transmission lines, energy storage facilities)
Knowledge of NFPA 70E Standards
Hazard identification & mitigation skills; analytical aptitude
Knowledge of project cost/scheduling and supply chains in construction
Knowledge of Zurich Construction Builder’s Risk Insurance product
Awareness of Construction Workforce and Economic issues
Intermediate knowledge of exposures, controls and best practice risk improvement methodologies
Capable of public speaking, presentation skills, developing programs to address industry needs and marketing/consulting services for fee
Professional certifications: CCM, P.E., PMP, AIA, LEED AP, etc.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and consulting skills
Strong leadership and management skills
Advanced Technical Writing skills
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, iOS/iPad Skills, Virtual Consulting
