About the role
- lead the Mid-Atlantic Construction Casualty team
- work closely with key brokers and clients to deliver comprehensive first-party risk transfer solutions
- responsible for the delivery of key business objectives for the Mid-Atlantic Construction Casualty team
- develop, mentor, and guide a team of Underwriters and Account Service Associates
- collaborate closely with Zurich’s broad team of Construction experts and resources, across multiple disciplines and stakeholders
- approximately 25% travel
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area AND 2 or more years of management experience
- Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier or Risk Management area within the Commercial Insurance industry
- Bachelors Degree with 20 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area within the Commercial Insurance industry AND Experience in a specialized line of business or segment 2 or more years of people management experience
- CPCU or CRIS Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Construction Casualty product lines, the commercial insurance and Construction/Engineering industry
- Strong Broker relationships in Mid-Atlantic region
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent skills in relationship building
- Strong presentation skills
- Results oriented
