About the role

  • Provide expert risk engineering and risk management advice to underwriting and claims teams, customers, and Zurich Resilience Solutions clients across Australia and New Zealand
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality risk engineering services
  • Conduct risk assessments across diverse industries
  • Produce technical assessments aligned with international standards
  • Engage with customers and participate in mentoring other risk engineers
  • Support business development and achievement of financial targets

Requirements

  • Demonstrated senior level industry experience, with strong exposure to risk management, loss evaluation, hazard analysis, occupational health and safety, or related insurance disciplines
  • Proven experience in risk engineering or risk management roles, such as Risk Engineering, Risk Consulting, or Loss Control
  • Direct industry experience in the motor sector is essential, with a solid understanding of motor risk exposures and controls
  • Formal training in risk assessment and hazard analysis specific to the Motor Line of Business
  • Strong working knowledge of Risk Engineering principles within an insurance environment, including assessment methodologies and service standards
  • Highly developed consultative questioning and influencing skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong financial and analytical capability
  • Relevant Risk Engineering qualification (or equivalent) at a senior level, with eligibility for professional membership (e.g. Risk Management Institute of Australasia or equivalent)
