About the role
- Managing all operational activities associated with high volume, mid-size to large accounts.
- Managing a team of 5-7 Underwriting Associates, end to end and as the point of contact for customers and underwriting leadership
- Ensuring teams meeting key operational performance goals
- Regular performance evaluations
- Managing the workflow and distribution of work amongst team members
- Performing customer service and account management responsibilities, as needed, which may include resolving issues related to billing, making changes to policies and answering policy coverage related questions.
- Participating in key account business relationships in person or teleconference with Underwriters
- Providing oversight and leading key checkpoint processes for teams
- Coordinating relevant agenda, communications, and discussion points for regional meetings and trainings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate’s Degree and 4 or more years’ experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
- Insurance certifications
- People management experience
- Experience working in a production and metrics performance environment
- Knowledge of operational budgets
- Knowledge of international insurance programs
