About the role
- Drive growth with a focus on profitability in E&S Construction & Casualty
- Generate and maintain a profitable book of packaged or monoline placements of new and renewal business
- Collaborate with Specialty Construction team representatives on business-related needs
- Responsible for portfolio management for E&S General Casualty primary and excess teams
- Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers
- Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key wholesale partners to identify growth opportunities
- Qualify accounts that fit within the risk appetite
- Work collaboratively across business units including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, IT, and technical underwriting
- Use market facing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to grow and develop relationships
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate’s Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience in the E&S Commercial Insurance industry
- Technical knowledge of Excess and Primary Casualty Underwriting within the E&S space
- Multi-Line Package Background or Cross-Functional knowledge of other P&C lines
- Established wholesale broker relationships
