About the role
- Supporting management to ensure internal controls are in place and operating effectively in accordance with the Group Internal Control Integrated Framework (ICIF) with a focus on financial controls.
- Working with an experienced team to provide innovative solutions to management to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment.
- Supporting manager and senior internal control analysts to understand the root cause of errors identified and help develop remediation plans.
- Analyzing processes to identify risks and control weaknesses.
- Designing and implementing appropriate controls to strengthen control environment and mitigate company risks.
- Promoting and educating control owners on the importance of internal controls.
- Supporting the business and Internal Controls team in automating controls and testing where appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- General ledger or transactional experience
- Experience with financial reporting systems, business objects and financial query tools
- Insurance industry experience (Preferred)
- 1 or more years’ experience related to internal / external audit (Preferred)
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite and Visio experience (Preferred)
