About the role
- Support various types of general and/or sub-ledger transactions relevant for Group reporting and local GAAP reporting
- Maintain one or more ledger categories/chart of accounts
- Perform and review SOX controls according to Group guidelines
- Process moderate to complex transactions and related activities
- Communicate/document financial statement impacts to management
- Prepare and review complex reconciliations and clear all open items
- Prepare and monitor budgets and trends and suggest solutions
- Perform accounting research and apply accounting theory to transactions
- Identify potential process improvements and develop action plans
- Communicate complex concepts to supervisors and outside vendors
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
- Experience with accounting and financial reporting
- General ledger and reporting tools experience
- CPA preferred
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting principles
- Insurance industry experience preferred
- Advanced general ledger transactional experience preferred
- Project management experience preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office experience
- Technology experience related to General ledger, financial reporting systems, Business Objects or similar tools
