About the role

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain highly complex applications on IBM mainframe platforms using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and SPUFI
  • Analyze business requirements and create robust technical solutions using RPG IV, ILE RPG, and CL on the IBM AS400 platform
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications and documentation for new and existing applications
  • Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure high standards of quality, security, and maintainability
  • Mentor junior developers and provide architectural guidance to programming teams
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of system performance and resolve complex production issues

Requirements

  • 10+ years of mainframe development experience with strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with RPG IV, ILE RPG, and CL on AS/400
  • Deep experience in commercial insurance, particularly in underwriting, rating, pricing, and policy administration systems
  • Extensive SQL experience with stored procedures, scripts, and query optimization
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, Microsoft Visual Studio, and .NET tools
  • Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal)
