About the role
- Conduct detailed on-site and/or virtual assessments of industrial and commercial operations to identify potential hazards and recommend tailored risk improvement measures
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports for underwriters, clearly articulating risk factors and mitigation recommendations
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Risk Engineering on developing and refining risk engineering methods, tools, and best practices
- Partner with Underwriting, Claims, and other stakeholders to align risk management efforts with broader business goals
- Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in risk evaluations
- Stay up to date on market trends, industry regulations, and emerging risks, sharing insights to inform strategic decision-making
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Risk Engineering or a related field, ideally within the industrial or commercial insurance sector
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial processes, equipment, and safety regulations
- University degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience and industry qualifications also considered
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings in a clear, actionable manner
- Collaborative mindset with a customer-focused approach to achieving risk management objectives
- Flexibility to travel frequently to client sites for on-site assessments (including abroad)
