About the role
- Responsible for developing, coaching, and managing a high-performing regional team of both Primary and Excess Casualty underwriting staff
- Manage regional performance including new business production, policy count retention, rate/tiering execution, and portfolio management actions relative to Plan
- Manage regional wholesale broker relationships and underwriter referrals
- Maintain a small production portfolio to stay attuned with regional market changes and desk-level challenges
- Travel as necessary to support team needs and cultivate key broker relationships
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14+ years of experience in the claims or Under Support area
- OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- 2+ years of management experience
- Strong underwriting acumen and expertise in the E&S Primary Casualty space
- Strong planning and execution experience
- Strong team building and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent skills in relationship building
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of forms language and coverage intent
