About the role
- Market, analyze, and underwrite primary casualty risks
- Solicit and underwrite new and renewal business
- Utilize The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework as a subject matter expert
- Serve as a leader and mentor to the team
- Prepare and present comprehensive referrals
- Negotiate successful outcomes to the agent/broker
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines
- Manage key portfolio indicators including Gross Written Premium, Retention, Rate, & Profitability
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing
- High School Diploma and 10+ years in claims or underwriting support
- Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an associate degree and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing
- Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an associate degree and 8+ years in claims or underwriting support
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
- Experience in a team environment
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Energy Casualty or Casualty-driven underwriting
- Experience in Guaranteed Cost & Loss Sensitive underwriting and existing network in Energy Casualty brokerage
