About the role
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, and rating manuals
- Develop, maintain, and collaborate with representatives from various lines of business
- Establish and maintain relationships with agents and brokers
- Serve as a point of contact and support for agents, brokers, and clients
- Actively pursue renewal opportunities and new business
- Evaluate opportunities with key partners
- Accurately calculate target pricing using underwriting tools
- Issue quotations, define coverages, and negotiate terms and conditions
- Manage accounts and handle declines/cancellations
- Participate in marketing presentations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and one year or more of experience in commercial insurance or client relations OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years or more of experience in claims management or underwriting support
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
- Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local regulations, and guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Fluency in French, written and spoken
