About the role
- Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.
- Assess and evaluate underwriting processes in order to implement agreed technical standards, controls, practices, and procedures.
- Follow up regularly with producers as needed to discuss status of new business, upcoming renewals, and renewals in process.
- Perform customer service and account management responsibilities, resolving issues related to billing and answering policy coverage questions.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensures staff are meeting performance standards.
- Conduct career development conversations with staff and create robust development plans.
- Build insurance operations and underwriting skills and knowledge by participating in cross-training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4 or more years' experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
- Advanced knowledge of Casualty lines of business.
- People management or supervisory experience.
- Excellent organizational, written, oral communication and presentation skills.
