Leading collaboration with logistics teams to ensure consistent customs compliance across global operations while maintaining strong relationships with customs authorities
Reviewing and negotiating trade compliance provisions in commercial contracts, such as import/export obligations and customs terms, while overseeing legal instruments like Powers of Attorney
Partnering on company-wide compliance programs, including policy creation, legal training initiatives, and process improvements to support business goals
Supporting the Senior Compliance Counsel on special projects and other corporate compliance program initiatives
Requirements
J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
3+ years of attorney experience with U.S. and international export/import regulations at a law firm, multinational corporation, or government agency
In-depth knowledge of customs laws, import clearance procedures, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and global freight operations
Working knowledge of U.S. export control and UK/EU dual-use regulations
Ability to foster collaboration and work closely with business stakeholders to understand their unique processes, applications, and technologies
