About the role
- Directly supporting the EDI needs of the medical billing/clearinghouse business
- Monitor business processes to ensure service level agreements are met
- Define business requirements and acceptance criteria/test cases that support EDI Interfaces related to healthcare business platform including but not limited to 837, 834, 820, 835, 999, 275, 277, 270 EDI transactions
- Interact with new and current trading partners to capture and analyze requirements, mapping specifications and project objectives
- Perform business analysis of identified process and software gaps or inefficiencies and develop plans to fill those gaps for internal business processes and for external clients
- Mapping documents to and from various formats including but not limited to ANSI X12, XML, and flat file layouts
- Investigate EDI transactions
- Investigate image issues related to PDF, .tif, and .text files
- Respond with appropriate urgency when process variations are discovered
- Communicate with outside agencies, carriers or facilities as research requires to gather information to resolve issues
- Work with banks and collection agencies to set up file formats to load into our system
- Troubleshoot to ensure different file formats load into Zotec system
- Act as an ambassador for Zotec’s Mission, initiatives and goals.
Requirements
- Knowledge of HIPAA/EDI X12 v5010 healthcare-related file formats including 837, 835, 276, 277, 270, 271, 999, and TA1 is required
- Knowledge of commonly used EDI concepts, best practices, and procedures within the health care industry
- Experience working with .NET Technologies such as C#.NET 3.5, ASP.NET 3.5, LINQ and SQL
- Microsoft Visual Studio experience
- Experience using design patterns
- Working knowledge of XML
- Experience in healthcare business processes, claims and enrollment
- Knowledge of industry standard health data code sets such as ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, and Revenue Codes
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
- Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and priority management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and have the willingness and ability to lead small initiatives and projects
- Must be able to multi-task, be flexible and embrace change.
