About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own a customer problem end to end: identify the opportunity, decide what should exist, build it, ship it, and learn from the results
Prototype ideas directly rather than only writing requirements for others
Create complete customer experiences on Zopa's agentic platform using prompts, tools, and configuration
Design evaluations that define quality and inform iteration and release decisions
Work directly in the codebase, raise pull requests for engineering review, and partner with engineers on deeper technical work
Shape agent performance in production by balancing context, conversation cost, latency, model choice, and routing
Review real customer conversations and turn insights into improvements
Lead analysis and research by interrogating data, running analyses, reviewing transcripts, and building decision-making insights
Make judgements on risk, compliance, and potential customer harm with Risk and Compliance partners
Build and ship AI Banking experiences for Zopa Bank, a peer-to-peer lending and banking company

Requirements

What you’ll need

Ability to personally build and ship customer experiences using AI
Strong product judgement and understanding of what is ready to ship
Ability to uncover customer insights and turn them into intuitive customer experiences
Regular use of coding agents and thoughtful understanding of their strengths and limitations
Experience designing evaluations (evals) and explaining how they identify issues traditional testing may miss
Practical understanding of LLM systems, including context management, tool design, prompting, non-determinism, cost, and latency trade-offs
Systems-thinking approach to recurring problems
Curiosity, open-mindedness, and adaptability as technology evolves
Must have the right to work in the country of choice when working abroad
Experience in banking, fintech, payments, or another regulated environment is an added bonus
Experience building and operating agentic systems in production is an added bonus
Experience with model routing, context engineering, or cost optimisation at scale is an added bonus
Experience with voice, image-based, or other multimodal customer experiences is an added bonus
Side projects or open-source contributions are an added bonus
