Assistant Management Accountant
ZOE.COMAssistant Management Accountant supporting financial reporting and commercial activities in a high-growth environment. Engaging with operations for month-end processes and improving reporting accuracy.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Business partnering with the Operations team to support monthly reporting and commercial activities.
- Taking ownership of inventory and cost of sales month end processes, and assisting with other areas where required.
- Taking ownership of specific month-end reporting cycles, including journal entries and variance analysis for assigned departments.
- Helping maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring key accounts are well understood and documented
- Preparing reconciliations and gathering support for year-end audit queries
- Acting as the internal point of contact for tax compliance, gathering data for external advisors, and maintaining oversight of VAT and US Sales Tax automations.
- Supporting the preparation of reporting packs for internal stakeholders
- Assisting during the year-end audit process, including responding to auditor queries and preparing supporting documentation
- Working collaboratively across teams to gather financial data and improve reporting accuracy
- Supporting ad hoc commercial initiatives at ZOE
Requirements
What you’ll need- Have around 2–4 years of experience in a finance or accounting role (e.g. Assistant Management Accountant, Finance Analyst, or similar)
- Are part-qualified (or studying towards) CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent
- Have a strong understanding of management accounting and financial reporting principles
- Have had previous experience supporting a year-end close and audit process
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced or growing business environment
- Have strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Are organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Have excellent Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, lookups) and are comfortable working with warehoused data and dashboards.
- Are keen to learn and develop, with an interest in improving processes and systems
- Have strong communication skills and are confident working with different teams
- Are a collaborative team player with a positive attitude
