About the role

  • Collaborates with the VP of Engineering and internal stakeholders on defining a DevOps roadmap and operating with a high degree of autonomy
  • Guides engineers and drives adoption of DevOps best practices around observability, monitoring, alerting, SLO/SLI’s, CI/CD, IaC, performance, and security; comfortable teaching and mentoring
  • Builds, optimizes, and maintains CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, vendor integrations, and infrastructure
  • Leads cross-functional initiatives with SRE, security, and development teams and mentors on DevOps practices
  • Delivers solutions for critical projects such as cloud migration, disaster recovery, and infrastructure scaling
  • Owns technical decisions and drives cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability strategies aligned with Zippy’s vision

Requirements

  • 10+ years of DevOps experience
  • 5+ years production experience with non-trivial AWS infrastructures
  • 3+ years production experience with Terraform
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as code
  • Expertise in Observability tooling for logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting
  • Expertise in Infra and network security best practices
  • Expertise in Disaster recovery
  • Expertise in Managing DevOps vendor relationships
  • Expertise in Cloud platform cost optimization
  • Proficient with Zippy’s stack: AWS, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Datadog, Postgres
  • Nice to have: Experience with Ruby and related build systems and tooling
  • Nice to have: Experience with Python and related build systems and tooling
  • Nice to have: Microsoft stack experience
  • Nice to have: Experience with monorepos and related tooling
