About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own lead generation to support annual revenue targets and B2C growth
- Set marketing strategic direction across campaigns, messaging, and brand
- Build quarterly plans, identify new marketing channels, and run tests
- Negotiate marketing agreements with partners and external resources; research and evaluate channel partners
- Own the annual marketing review, including performance analysis, market trends, and strategy shifts
- Maintain oversight of DRM brand standards
- Give final approval for email marketing/sequences, social media, blogs, paid advertising, print materials, and collateral
- Identify and approve website updates
- Oversee content creation and data cleanup/organization
- Manage and optimize the marketing budget for ROA; recommend and manage budget allocation
- Negotiate and execute agreements with marketing resources such as PPC agencies and CRO providers
- Review initiatives for budget and strategic alignment
- Determine budgets for the ambassador program and other strategic initiatives
- Identify needs for marketing tools/assets and define requirements, specifications, and budgets
- Direct the Marketing team in sourcing and implementing solutions or engaging outside experts
- Oversee backend builds, landing pages, and UX/template updates
- Define quarterly marketing goals, KPIs, and success metrics; own the marketing Scorecard
- Monitor Scorecard metrics/KPIs weekly, flag off-track metrics, and recommend corrective action
- Audit quarterly results and refine priorities, including Scorecard and Rocks
- Ensure Scorecard metrics/KPIs are accurately reported using analytics tools
- Conduct final QA across marketing initiatives, channels, platforms, and vendors
- Sit on the leadership team and own the Marketing seat in the EOS structure, including Rocks, Scorecard, and L10 meetings
- Ramp up on current programs, brand standards, and tech stack within the first 90 days
- Complete knowledge transfer from the outgoing CMO
- Establish quarterly Rocks and take ownership of the Scorecard
- Build working relationships with Marketing Coordinator contractors and clarify roles
- Present an initial 90-day marketing plan to leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of marketing experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership/management role
- Experience owning marketing strategy and execution in a small-to-mid-size company, ideally $5M–$20M revenue range, in a strategic and hands-on capacity
- B2C marketing experience, ideally including direct mail/print, ambassador or referral programs, and paid media (PPC/CRO)
- Proven track record managing a marketing budget for ROA/ROI and negotiating vendor/agency agreements
- Experience managing people, including junior team members and technical contractors
- Comfort working in a company that runs on EOS — Rocks, Scorecards, L10s, and accountability charts; EOS experience strongly preferred
- Strong grasp of digital marketing fundamentals: content, email/SMS, SEO/SEM, marketing automation, and website/landing page coordination
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present strategy and Scorecard results clearly to leadership
- Familiarity with Customer.io, Google Analytics, monday.com, Excel/Google Sheets
- Experience transitioning from a fractional/consulting marketing leader into an in-house structure is a nice to have
- Experience with direct-to-consumer channels such as mailers, print, stuffers, newspaper inserts, and swag/promotional campaigns is a nice to have
