WHO YOU ARE: As a Principal/Staff UX/UI Designer, you’ll be at the forefront of crafting seamless, impactful experiences for users navigating the often-opaque world of insurance and finance. You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, compliance, and data science to champion user needs, define design systems, and shape the future of our platforms.
WHAT YOU’LL DO: Drive Design Strategy - Shape and scale the design vision across product lines by identifying user pain points and business opportunities unique to Insurtech and Fintech.
Lead Design Execution - Lead design initiatives from discovery to delivery—wireframes, prototypes, UI components, and high-fidelity visuals for web and mobile platforms.
Systemize & Scale - Build and maintain design systems that promote accessibility, consistency, and scalability across products.
Mentor & Influence - Mentor mid-to-senior designers while influencing cross-functional partners through clear communication and design rationale.
Customer-Centered Innovation - Use research, behavioral data, and experimentation to inform design choices that demystify complex insurance or financial workflows.
Cross-functional Partnership - Collaborate with product managers, engineers, actuaries, legal teams, and marketers to ship delightful and compliant experiences.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in UX/UI design with at least 2 years in a staff or principal-level role.
Strong portfolio of work demonstrating excellence in both user experience and user interface design, ideally in Fintech, Insurtech, or similarly regulated domains.
Deep understanding of complex data visualization, onboarding flows, decision-support tools, or financial dashboards.
Experience leading 0→1 product design efforts and scaling mature products.
Fluency in Figma and design system architecture.
Empathy for diverse users—ranging from tech-savvy investors to first-time policyholders.
A passion for simplifying the complicated and humanizing digital financial services.
Experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams.
