About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyzing, documenting and reporting findings of claim processing issues
- Interviewing stakeholders and researching claim processing issues within the medical claims processing system
- Documenting the “how” and “why” of the claim processing issues
- Leading implementation efforts with respect to new or modified claims processes
- Analyzing problems, identifying systemic issues, and providing recommendations for mitigation and prevention
- Supporting claims editing escalated provider disputes/appeals
- Researching and providing feedback on claims editing performance issues
- Collaborating with other departments to improve compliance with coding conventions and clinical practice guidelines
- Thoroughly researching post payment claims and taking appropriate action to resolve identified issues within turnaround time requirements and quality standards
- Acting as liaison with other departments when additional clarification is needed about claims payment policy disputes
- Keeping Team Manager informed verbally and in writing of activities and problems within assigned area of responsibility.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in health service-related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in evaluating insurance claims in accordance with applicable contracts and government regulations within their insurance type
