About the role
- As the Senior Data Analyst, you will be primarily responsible for analyzing data, building data models, data flow diagrams, mapping source and destination data attributes, and creating data structures.
- You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact through the discovery, development, and implementation of leading-edge analytics that answer important business questions.
- This role will have good exposure to our senior leadership and other functional leadership.
- Strong knowledge of HEDIS and/or Medicare Stars experience, which includes providing strategic recommendations for improving HEDIS measure performance, provider engagement, and patient experience for various markets, internal leadership, and provider partners.
- Develop and maintain HEDIS based reports to support Quality Initiatives.
- Participates in Clinical Team meetings and provides analytic and statistical support for quality, clinical, and operational improvement activities, and effectively summarizing complex information.
- The position will coordinate onboarding of new data files and collaborate with internal and external departments to drive improved scores in Medicare Stars.
- Identify and resolve data, process, and technical issues and communicate root-causes with stakeholders as appropriate.
- Document data flow, create data design and solution architecture diagrams.
- Partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization and effectively, both verbally and visually, communicate findings and insights to non-technical business partners.
- Research key business problems and proactively identify opportunities for cost and utilization improvements through quantitative analysis.
- Communicate and present data-driven insights and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders, soliciting and incorporating feedback when required.
- Serve as a business leader and subject matter expert for data domains.
- Consolidate and review analyses and recommendations of internal and external business partners.
- Mentor junior analysts on analytic best practices and business need fulfilment.
Requirements
- BA or BS degrees in IT or Information Systems or related field, or equivalent education and experience required.
- 7+ years of experience working in Information Technology or BI.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in clinical quality, NCQA HEDIS, or health data analytics related to Medicare Stars, QRS, or Medicaid programs.
- 2+ years of related work experience working for a healthcare payer is preferred with the familiarity of a medical claim, pharmacy claim, and provider data domains.
- Expert knowledge using Microsoft tools and SQL Server database or similar SQL platforms.
- Understanding of Azure data warehouse, Synapse and Azure data factory, Understanding of Several BI and Reporting Platforms.
- Working knowledge of automation capabilities such as batch processes, stored procedures, scripting languages, PowerBI, or other tools preferred.
- Familiarity with metadata management and data lineage.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications written and problem-solving skills.
