About the role
- Own the Google Workspace platform end‑to‑end
- Design and evolve the collaboration architecture
- Lead incident response and complex troubleshooting for high‑impact Workspace issues
- Build automation and integrations using scripting and Google Workspace APIs/SDKs
- Integrate Google Workspace with identity, security, and IT workflows
- Use AI as a force multiplier for your work
- Lead cross‑functional projects such as Workspace migrations
- Mentor and uplevel other engineers
- Represent the team with stakeholders across the company
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in IT systems or collaboration/platform engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Deep Google Workspace experience running large or complex environments
- Strong systems design and troubleshooting skills
- Solid scripting and automation skills (e.g., Google Apps Script, Python)
- Experience implementing and operating security, privacy, and compliance controls
- Experience integrating Google Workspace with identity and endpoint tools
- Proven use of AI tools in engineering or operations work
- Track record of operating at a staff-level scope
- Ability to lead and mentor other engineers
- Comfort working across diverse teams and locations
