About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support for customer laboratory environments, including computers integrated with instrumentation
  • Manage lab computing aspects of equipment installation, retirement, and relocation
  • Implement Windows-based security
  • Ensure adherence to client corporate policies through periodic reporting and compliance programs
  • Serve as the technical support contact for field service engineers and external vendors
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise for new system validation and change management
  • Document procedures, policies, troubleshooting, and best practices
  • Create and maintain physical inventories of lab equipment, PCs, software, and other relevant information
  • Perform system preventive maintenance according to the client’s schedule, when applicable
  • Analyze customer needs and gaps to propose desired-state solutions
  • Work with customer business users and managers alongside the internal Zifo support team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in computer science, life science, or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience, including Windows technologies, networking, remote computing, and backup systems
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to listen to and interpret client requests
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex instrument and technology issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify, track, and complete tasks for multiple projects
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices defined by the company and/or customer site safety code
  • Experience with virtual machine support (preferred)
  • Experience with scientific instrumentation (preferred)
