About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute all activities required for the successful delivery of technical projects, both internal initiatives and customer driven programs related to product engineering and dynamometric testing.
  • PEDA and PPAP creation and the Bill of Material configuration in the system.
  • Participate in new customer projects with OES and IAM related to brake pads for PC.
  • Generate detailed 3D CAD models by leveraging reverse‑engineering workflows using a 3D scanning system to capture the geometric and dimensional data required to develop production‑grade and reference engineering drawings for the brake pad assembly.
  • Work within the engineering laboratory at the ZF Monterrey Technical Center to ensure the availability of appropriate measurement and analysis equipment, as well as the tools required to support pad‑production tooling.
  • Design required tooling, coordinating with the ZF purchasing system to obtain supplier quotations, and managing the ZF CAPEX approval workflow to secure funding and procure molds, fixtures, and tools necessary for the manufacturing process.
  • In charge of Product Engineering Change Requests (ECR).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS engineering/ architecture degree – mechanical or electrical required
  • Proficient English skills (reading, speaking, writing) since this position will be dealing with people in USA and suppliers from other regions of the world where English is the common language
  • Microsoft Office Skills required
  • 3-5 years of product engineering experience in an automotive or similar industry required
  • Experience with understanding product drawings, dimensions, and tolerances required
  • CAD experience (to design measurement fixtures/tools) preferred
  • Automotive components/systems experience preferred
  • Ability to travel (10%)
