About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Working with category managers on part numbers that will need to be released in the ZF PIMS aftermarket system.
- Working with part number cross references between original equipment (OE) and other aftermarket suppliers.
- Generate detailed 3D CAD models by leveraging reverse‑engineering workflows using a 3D scanning system to capture the geometric and dimensional data required to develop production‑grade and reference engineering drawings for the brake pad assembly.
- Work in an engineering lab at ZF Monterrey Technical Center to include proper measurement and analysis equipment and tools needed to support the product releases for CatMan.
- Evaluate suppliers product engineering development, reverse engineering, testing and validating products.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS engineering degree – mechanical or electrical required
- Proficient English skills (reading, speaking, writing) since this position will be dealing with people in USA and suppliers from other regions of the world where English is the common language
- Microsoft Office Skills required
- 3-5 years of product engineering experience in an automotive or similar industry required
- Experience with understanding product drawings, dimensions, and tolerances required
- Experience working with teams and team members required
- CAD experience (to design measurement fixtures/tools) preferred
- Automotive components/systems experience preferred
- Ability to travel (10%)
