About the role
- Leading complex projects to troubleshoot, improve, and upgrade production equipment to enhance machine functionality and overall performance.
- Analyzing workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to design efficient equipment and workspace layouts.
- Collaborating with manufacturing engineers and design teams to ensure product designs, tooling, and production methods support efficient manufacturing.
- Validating product specifications and evaluate equipment, tooling, materials, and fixturing for purchase, ensuring alignment with quality and technical requirements.
- Assessing production equipment performance, validate production times and staffing needs, and provide cost based recommendations for management decisions.
- Overseeing APQP and Lean based projects for existing and new production programs, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting budget, performance, and timing goals.
- Leading functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, analyzing PFMEAs and workflows, and applying advanced statistical and problem solving methods to meet industry standards.
- Supporting engineers across levels in daily departmental tasks, participating in meetings, managing special engineering projects, and ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, and corporate standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 7-8+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience and leading technical projects in an automotive or similar environment
- Ability to train others
- Expert-level knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering
- Experience with customer communication systems and engineering change systems
- In-depth understanding of engineering techniques, principles, procedures of their particular field to the completion of difficult assignments
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
