About the role
- Works with associates from all departments, and the Customer Liaison, to resolve internal and customer related issues.
- Coordinates production and customer related corrective actions for root cause.
- Responsible for Axle Assembly Quality APQP, Control Plans, capability studies, Gage R&Rs.
- Monitors and reports assembly quality levels, pareto analysis of defects, daily audit results, etc.
- Provides input to management for continuous improvement programs and business unit directives.
- Performs internal audits of the processes to assess effectiveness and efficiency.
- Works with Supplier Quality Engineer with in-plant containment in the event of non-conforming supplier (Tier 2) components.
- Works with the Quality Manager and the rest of the Engineering Change team support personnel to assemble PPAP documentation to support part, process or design changes to the axle system.
- Supervisory responsibility, as assigned, for Quality Audit Technicians.
- Responsible for assigning tasks and tracking project progress up to completion.
- Involved in ensuring IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 standards are followed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 3-4+ years of work-related experience (internship/co-op included)
- Working knowledge of plant and business unit procedures/processes.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead professional staff (e.g. schedule daily tasks, prioritize, execute)
- Strong problem solving skills, having developed and presented 8D’s and/or presentations to the customer.
- Exemplary time/project management skills while demonstrating the ability to produce results under constraints (e.g. time, budget, headcount, etc.)
- Proven ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Training in 5S, LEAN, and other company required programs may be required.
