About the role
- Define the technical vision and roadmap for the Zeta application platform, ensuring it meets the long-term needs of the business and engineering teams.
- Design and lead the implementation of core platform services, including reusable microservices, APIs, and shared components that serve all applications.
- Architect and build the underlying platform services and APIs that enable the seamless integration of AI agents, large language models (LLMs), and agentic workflows.
- Ensure the platform's architecture can handle increasing scale and complexity, with a focus on high availability, performance, and fault tolerance.
- Create tools, frameworks, and best practices that improve the developer experience, accelerate development velocity, and ensure consistency across all applications.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and architectural patterns to keep the platform at the forefront of innovation.
- Partner with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to embed security, monitoring, and operational best practices into the platform's design and development lifecycle.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, guidelines, and governance standards for the platform's architecture and usage.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a lead architect or principal engineer role.
- Extensive experience designing and building large-scale, distributed application platforms.
- Deep expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and cloud-native services.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
